Right now, we are working on plans to have a few major events right around the Tour of Utah all benefiting Miles for Melanoma and skin cancer research through the University of Utah’s Department of Dermatology. As cyclists, we have really high UV exposure and we want to promote the importance of protecting ourselves against skin cancer! As one of the events, we would like as many club members and friends possible to participate in the 1000 Warriors, where 1000 riders race/ride the Queen stage of the Tour of Utah a few hours before the racers in the Tour of Utah set out to follow the same course. Go to www.1000warriors.com for more information. We are going to focus a fundraising event around this event! If you are interested in participating in the event, the organizers cap off the registration at 1000 and would like everyone to register by May 22. Currently about 400 people have registered. There will be a special jersey for the event and many more details to follow. Please check the blog for updates!
