I bet they are hoping that the UCI implements a hair-follicle only testing policy.

Salt Lake’s Superheroes
Next time you run a stop sign on your bike, make sure these guys aren’t standing on the corner waiting to cross.
I think Contender should start a gang that “fights” crime on bikes…….

Haiku Street Signs
New York City has launched a new set of traffic signs–written in haiku poems. They’re designed to encourage people to be more sensitive and share the street. Hilarious. Check out the ones about bikes!

Occupy while cycling?
GRANTSVILLE — More than a dozen Occupy protestors tried to block trucks going to Grantsville’s Walmart headquarters this afternoon by riding their bikes across the entrance.
The protest was part of the Occupy movement’s national day of action – in which Occupy supporters blocked the nation’s ports and tried to disrupt the nation’s economic engine. Three locations in Utah were targeted: a Walmart distribution center near Grantsville, along 1300 South in Salt Lake City and the Walmart in Tooele.
The demonstration also coincided with the one month anniversary of the eviction of Occupy Salt Lake from Pioneer Park, where 19 were arrested
Band Meeting
Random sighting at 9th & 9th yesterday and my most favorite one yet. Bret McKenzie from Flight of the Conchords was randomly walking around 9th & 9th yesterday. When I saw him, I thought “that looks like the guy from Flight of the Conchords but why would he be in Salt Lake”. Then I heard the Kiwi accent and was certain it was. Needless to say Ryan and Jillian had a band meeting with Bret.
Here is just a sampling as to why I was so excited:

Riding Fixies??
Don’t these guys ride fixies???

Guerrilla knitting in SLC!
Graffiti knitting, knit bombing, yarn bombing, yarn storming, guerrilla knitting…..
Call it what you like. All I can say is that I love it. I have seen it in a number of large cities, but yesterday I saw my first guerrilla knitting in SLC while walking into Emigration Market. I figured it was worthy of the blog because it was the bike rack that had been knit bombed.

Hopefully, knit bombing will take off in SLC. I find it a much better alternative to spray paint.
Hhmmmm, maybe I should combine two of my favorite things: cycling & knitting. I might end up with something like this:
