The U.P. Frame
With a similar attitude the two have developed the OPEN U.P., first production road frameset that can be ridden with either 700c or 27.5 inch wheels. The U.P. is, by now, well-known for the ability to pound pavement or duel in the dirt, all with the comfort and control of your favorite road bike. Not limited to a traditional road or cross setup, we have seen the U.P. frameset built up with a range of alternate setups, from 27.5 x 2.1 inch tires and XTR Di2 to 1×11 drivetrain to flat bars and 700c CX wheels. These sought after frames are proving that true versatility can exist without compromise and have put OPEN Cycle well on the map to the road less traveled.
Recently many of the U.P. frames have been delivered in RTP, Ready To Paint, this lowkey colorway lets the rider creatively choose any look they want or go full stealth mode on their new OPEN. Going into 2017 there will a lighter version of the U.P. available, saving a few hundred grams will go a long way to letting weight conscious riders build an exceptional off-road ride closer to road bike weight.
