With the Scott Genius 710, Scott improves upon their tradition of making a mountain bike that can be ridden “anywhere at any time.” Designed around proven trail-bike geometry then built with a carbon frame, and alloy swingarm, the Genius 710 delivers super-bike performance to the rest of us. A host of top-quality components and versatile 27.5 inch wheels equip the Scott Genius 710 to be ridden quickly where other bikes have to slow down. Tight turns and technical sections are easily navigated aboard the Scott Genius 710. On long descents the Genius geometry takes over and puts 150mm of travel to good use by allowing you to ride up and over obstacles instead of around them. Shimano supplies their new Shimano XT 2×11 drivetrain components to offer the gearing needed to get up to speed on any trail while XT disc brakes keep that speed in check on the way down. When the going gets really rough just lower the Fox dropper post to get the saddle out of way and greatly increase the bike’s maneuverability. All of this and more make a Scott Genius 710 the proven way to ride fast on a wide variety of trails.
Scott builds their Genius 710 to tackle all manner of trails without holding back. A lightweight HMF carbon mainframe is mated to an alloy swingarm for increased reliability and reduced price. The same geometry design that makes the entire Genius line shine in a wide variety of conditions is incorporated within the 710 to great effect. Less twitchy than a cross-country racer the Scott Genius 710 is made to be ridden fast over rough trails and really excels on long descents. Front and back suspension are courtesy of Fox with their Float Performance Elite fork and Nude shock customized to work seamlessly with Scott’s TwinLoc remote lever. Three different modes – Climb, Trail and Descend – are accessed with this lever to offer a dialed ride anywhere on the mountain. Speed control is covered by XT hydraulic disc brakes and a set of 180mm rotors bringing the Syncros wheelset to a stop when needed. Also, tubeless-ready rims and tires allow you to save a little rotational weight while improving traction and flat protection.
