Wheels are always being redesigned to perform better, be lighter and last longer. Mavic has redesigned their Cosmic Pro Carbon Exalith with all of those points in mind. They have made the rim profile 45mm deep instead of 52mm to reduce drag no matter the condition of the weather that you are riding in. Combined with making the external rim width 25mm to perfectly integrate with a 25mm tire makes it easier to steer in crosswinds.
Mavic keeps the Exalith treatment to their aluminum brake track to withstand the braking heat and keep you safer on the road. The Exalith treatment penetrates the alloy to delay rim wear and to shorten braking distance by 18% in wet conditions, while not wearing through your brake pads. Speaking of brake pads, the Mavic has made special black Exalith pads to deliever quiet, high braking performance that last longer over time.
The front wheel comes with a GripLink tire that grips better to the ground giving you more control and extra puncture protection. While the rear wheel comes with a PowerLink tire that offers low rolling resistance to generate more speed. The suggested tire sizes to use are 21mm to 28mm.
The Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon only comes in black this rear and is available with a Sram/Shimano or Campagnolo hub.
