Events like the Dirty Kanza, Crusher in the Tushar, and Grinduro have ushered in a new category of multi-surface road bikes, that includes the Moots Routt, Open U.P. Unbeaten Path, and 3T Exploro. The Moots Routt is a beautifully riding frame, and is crafted in their Steamboat Springs facility. But like most things, riders want bigger and faster, which has led to the development of the Moots Routt RSL Frameset.
Moots uses custom drawn, exclusively produced titanium tubesets for every bike that they build. The RSL denomination signifies something extra special. Moots starts with their internally butted tubing, and adds a set of very special, proprietary 3d-printed titanium dropouts. These dropouts are unique to Moots, and allow for an efficient, stiff, strong, and extremely accurate foundation Moots adds a stout, full carbon thru axle fork, an internally set Chris King headset, and rear 12×142 thru-axle dropouts, all designed to enhance ride quality and ensure years of happy riding.
Moots’ build quality is legendary, so its no surprise that the Routt RSL garnered so much attention after its launch. Quality aside, the standout feature of the Routt RSL is its geometry. Meant for mixed surfaces like asphalt, dirt, gravel, etc, the Routt RSL is stable and confidence-inspiring. The RSL differs from the standard Routt and Routt 45 in its more-aggressive geometry. Endurance bikes typically feature upright geometry. While comfortable, this typically takes away from the handling of the bike. The RSL uses a geometry somewhere between traditional race geo and that of new endurance bikes. The result is a high-performance, great handling bike that is equally suited to a wide range in road surfaces.
Moots sells the Routt RSL primarily as a frameset, perfect for custom building a dream adventure rig. With their frameset, Moots includes the Routt RSL frame, Moots full carbon fork, and Chris King headset. The Routt RSL accepts 45c tires, and while geometry is semi-stock, Moots is happy to add custom touches to the frame, such as rack braze-ons, special finishes, etc. For additional info on Moots frames, or to custom build a bike, please contact us at email@example.com.
