The 2022 Contender Shop Kit Is Here in Time for Spring

A new Contender Kit typically drops every March, and clearly being in late-April, we've received a number of questions wondering when the kit will drop. We're happy to say that patience paid off, and the new 2022 Contender Shop Kit has arrive just in time for sunny skies and warmer temperatures.

The 2022 design continues the colors we've come to know and love, just cleaned up a bit. We've removed a bit of branding to make way for a hint of purple alongside a bit more red and white. These are small changes to allow riders in previous-year kits to mix and match pieces as they wish, but we are excited for these changes the kit's cleaner overall look. 

We are happy to pair with Ale this year for a majority of the 2022 Shop kit to offer up some of the best cycling apparel we've found. The Ale-made Contender PRR Short Sleeve is a popular choice for its breathability, flatlock stitching, and shorter collar. We found it perfect for long days in the saddle when you want all the ventilation you can get. Alongside this is the Contender PRR Wind Vest, made for cooler temperatures and imperfect weather. PRR apparel pieces all have a close-to-body cut that feels best in the saddle, with a soft hand feel.

Shorts are separated into two lines: Classic and PRR. The classic shorts are a bit roomier in feel with a thick, comfortable chamois. The unisex and women’s PRR bib shorts are a bit more compressive overall, with a closer fit to match the PRR jerseys. PRR bibs feature a unisex or women's version of the Ale 4H Shammy, a supportive chamois we've used for all-day rides and short events alike. All shorts feature flatlock seams and elasticated leg grippers, while the bibs get wide, laser-cut straps that spread out pressure nicely.

Also available is the 2022 Contender Shop Classic Jersey, Women's Classic Jersey, and Long Sleeve Jersey, all of which use the same supplier as many of our best-selling jerseys. Fit is more relaxed when compared to the Ale pieces.
