Your Favorite Beautiful Bicycle 2022 Results! Twelve Through Seven
You voted, and here are the results of the Your Favorite Beautiful Bicycle 2022. These are bikes we've decided to highlight that have come through our doors. Most are custom bike builds, each done up to the rider's specific needs, expectations, and wants. As a result, each of these bikes is unique and won't likely be found anywhere else.
For those who missed out, here's what happened. We took a vote to find your favorite of our list of Beautiful Bicycle entrants. Here they are, from last place up to 7th.
THE BIKES IN QUESTION
12th - A PARED-DOWN ORBEA ALMA OMX - SEE MORE
This Orbea Alma OMX features a custom-painted frame that sets it apart. But besides that, this Alma OMX hardtail is all about doing the basics well and focusing on the ride. And while hardtail mountain bikes aren't for everyone, we're sure this one is a riot to ride on the trail.
11th - A GEARHEAD'S BMC URS LT - SEE MORE
Is it a gravel bike or a mountain bike? This custom BMC URS LT has a whole bunch of tech going on, from the built-in suspension tuned specifically for gravel road riding to the Classified Powershift drivetrain, which hides away what is effectively a front derailleur in the rear hub. Real cool stuff.
10th - A BRIGHT AND BOLD PINARELLO GREVIL - SEE MORE
The Pinarello Grevil is well-known for its strikes, curves, and angles sometimes get lost in the black-on-black color scheme that this bike often comes with. Blue, orange, and black accent lines make this bike really pop.
9th - A SANTA CRUZ CHAMELEON THAT STANDS OUT - SEE MORE
This bike belongs to our very own Jack. Their component choices make this Chameleon particularly interesting. The Chris King wheels and White Industries cranks and headset are all of the highest quality with Made in the USA construction. The Hope brakes are machined impeccably, and the entire package makes for a package centered around fun.
8th - AN OPEN UP BUILT FOR A (CHRIS) KING - SEE MORE
This custom OPEN UP was built for the 2022 Chris King Open House to highlight King's latest limited-edition colorway, Matte Midnight. The Matte Midnight parts can be seen in the hubs and headset. It also receives a Shimano GRX Limited groupset, a small-batch run of polished alloy components for everyone unhappy with the gunmetals and blacks of modern groupsets.
7th - AN EYE-CATCHING ALLIED ECHO - SEE MORE
To be fair, we didn't build this bike. Rather, it was on loan to us briefly after it participated in the 2021 ENVE Builder's Showcase. As such, it received a smattering of ENVE wheels, bars, seatpost, and tires that give the bike a cohesive look. But the best part has to be the paint scheme, a metallic flake that really looks good in the sun.
