Contender's Super Saturday, With Assos, Pinarello, and an Ice Cream Truck!
The Tour of Utah is a time of festivity for us. For some, the Tour of Utah (or ToU) is purely about competition and seeing how hard professionals can push themselves. For others, the ToU is about everything good with cycling and the type of community it encourages. This year's Stage 5 marks the first time that Canyons Village will host both the start and finish, making for plenty of opportunities to enjoy the competition. Our Contender Super Saturday exemplifies this, with an e-road bike group ride, an ice cream truck, and an Assos Trade-In program!
Join us this Saturday, August 17th for an array of activities out of our Contender Park City shop. Here's the rundown:
DAY-OF EVENTS
Open demo with Pinarello in Park City from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm. Test ride a cool Pinarello, complete list of Pinarello road, gravel, and pedal-assist bikes found HERE. Pinarello bikes demoed on this day must be brought back by 3:30 pm.
Ice cream! We'll have the Spilled Milk Ice Cream & Cereal Bar food truck at the shop and open to everyone who stops by, with extra scoops going to those riding the Ultimate Challenge. Available from 2:00 - 6:00 pm in Park City.
GROUP RIDE
Park City: Saturday, August 17th.
Time: Depart Contender Park City at 4:45 pm.
Terrain: Pavement/bike paths.
Route: Start at Contender Park City to watch racers climb up the Utah Olympic Park. Map overview can be found HERE.
Exact ride subject to changes depending on the weather.
Join our e-road bike group ride starting at our Park City shop! We depart at 4:45 pm and ride toward the Utah Olympic Park to watch ToU riders climb to the stage finish around 5:45 pm. We will stop at the top of Utah Olympic Park, right before a fast downhill that is sure to be a highlight of the entire stage.

ASSOS TRADE-IN PROGRAM (August 12th - August 18th)
Assos Trade-In to Trade-Up - Bring in a pair of used cycling shorts or bibs that are clean and usable and receive a $50 credit towards a new pair of Assos shorts. A $50 credit is given with the purchase of shorts, including the Assos Cento EVO Bib Short, Equipe RS Bib Short S9, Equipe RSR Bib Shorts S9, and H.laalalaiShorts_s7. Offer ends on August 18th, so bring your shorts to either of our shops before that date! Don't live in Utah? Send your clean and usable shorts to Contender Bicycles Salt Lake City (989 E 900 S Salt Lake City, UT 84105) before the 18th to receive your discount on eligible shorts.
