Contender’s TdF Competition 2019: the Final!
Few grand tours bring everyone together like the Tour de France. While there wasn't anything controversial or extreme like in years past, there was still plenty of intrigue to be found in cycling's most famous race. The Tour marks the start and finish of this year's Contender Tour de France competition, this year marking a shift toward riding and getting out on the open road.
This year was probably our favorite year yet. Instead of a typical fantasy competition like we've done in the past, we swapped it to a ride-based competition that rewarded riding a bike rather than selecting riders in the pro peloton. Each selected photo location we had featured a ride profile similar to that of a stage in the TdF. Riders had to submit a photo in our selected destinations to be eligible for prizes, which meant we received a ton of excellent photos.
As an overview, Audrey P. won our Week One competition, winner of SCOTT Road RC Lace-Up shoes and a SCOTT Cadence road helmet.
Josh C. won our Week Two competition, winner of an Assos Mille GT cycling kit and Oakley Jawbreaker glasses.
Megan F. won our Week Three competition, winner of Shimano S-Phyre RC901 road shoes, one of our favorite road shoes available. They also receive a Lazer Century helmet. Congratulations!
Thanks to those who participated, as well as our myriad prize pack sponsors. Without further adieu...
Congratulations to our overall Tdf Competition winner, Nick C., who won out of a pool of riders in Weeks One, Two, and Three. They receive an ENVE road handlebar, stem, seatpost, pair of bottle cages, and a Garmin out-front mount!
And finally, congratulations to Josh C, who won our Best Photo Prize with a photo taken at McPolin Farm in Park City. They receive a pair of hot Giro Imperial road shoes.
And that's a wrap folks. This would not have been possible without the many people who sent us photo submissions, nor would this have been possible without our generous sponsors. Thank you all!
