Hot off the Press - 2019 Contender Shop Kits
In anticipation for the 2019 Contender Shop Kit, we've gone away from the confusing preorder system to one release date for all. And instead of announcing the kit during the coldest part of the year, we're releasing the kit just in time for sunny skies and warmer temperatures. We've partnered with Vermarc for the 2019 Shop kit, with a change in the lineup. In addition to the Vermarc-made Aero Jersey and Wind Vest, we've added a new Summer Jersey, which comes from the Vermarc PRR line. Like the Aero Jersey, it features a race cut that feels best in the saddle. The PRR jersey material is more breathable than our previous jerseys, but is high-quality, with flatlock stitching and multi-stretch fabrics. It also has a smaller collar that feels excellent, perfect for long days in the saddle when you want all the ventilation you can get. The exception is our Classic Jersey, Women's Classic Jersey, Long Sleeve Jersey, and Mountain Jerseys, all of which use the same supplier as many of our other jerseys. Fit is more relaxed when compared to the Vermarc pieces.
Our shorts are also made in partnership with Vermarc, with two shorts: the Vermarc PRR, and Vermarc SPL. Compared to the Vermarc SPL short we've used in years past, the 2019 Contender Bicycles Bib Shorts PRR uses flatlock seams all around, laser-cut bib straps and hems for a low-profile fit, and a slightly more compressive material to support weary leg muscles. Small changes, but they amount to a short that blows us away in regards to performance and overall quality. We still offer the 2019 Bib Shorts SPL, and 2019 Shorts SPL in unisex and women's versions for those who prefer the fit of our previous shorts.
Alongside our rethink of the the Contender Club, we feel that the 2019 Contender Bicycles Shop Kits are our best offerings yet, both in performance and looks.
