Ride With Phil Gaimon this Sunday
Phil Gaimon, the King of the Cookie Corner himself, will be here this Sunday, August 18th for the Tour of Utah. Meet at our Park City shop at 1:00 PM on Sunday and ride up to Empire Pass to watch the race. The ride will be in support of No Kid Hungry. Ride signup link found HERE.
Phil Gaimon, also known as "Phil the Thrill" or "Cookie Monster," is a retired pro cyclist who raced for myriad teams from 2009-2016. And while he achieved his notoriety using his platform as a professional cyclist, he is best defined by his other exploits. Among other things, he authored three books based on his experiences as a cyclist, hosts a weekly podcast called The Peloton Brief, and organizes an annual charity ride called Phil's Cookie Fondo. Perhaps he is most famous for his Youtube series, the Worst Retirement Ever, in which Gaimon travels the world chasing Strava KOM segments on some of the most famous hill climbs in the world. His being a cookie enthusiast is also well-documented.
What is he doing in Park City? In a word, cookies. Gaimon and his team will bring the "Cookie Corner" to Stages Four, Five, and Six of the Tour of Utah this year, and his ride that leaves our shop Sunday will end up at his Cookie Corner. There, riders will be able to heckle the riders, eat cookies, and bring the energy!
