Time believes there is no point in buying a climbing bike that rides great uphill, but is jittery on the descents and harsh on the flats. The TIME Alpe d’Huez 01 Disc Aktiv is the lightest bike they have ever made and among the most responsive. Using their in-house RTM production, they can combine a greater proportion of high modulus carbon with high resistance and weaving in a portion of Vectran fibers. The result is that they have been able to improve its stiffness to weight ratio by 25% compared to the last great climbing bike, the Izon.

The addition of the TIME Aktiv Carbon Fork injects a new level of comfort to this pro-level racing bike. They make the Aktiv Fork by using a unique braiding technique where the carefully chosen Vectran fibers are woven into a unique shape that works to dampen the vibrations before they reverberate up to the rider’s hands.

The racing geometry has been tweaked to allow the rider to get into aggressive positions that are still comfortable on windy flats and stable down fast descents. The BB386 bottom bracket allows us to enhance the stiffness of that important juncture, encouraging excellent power transfer.
