Product Description
The OPEN ONE+ hardtail mountain bike is a nondescript package. Its matte black paint and lack of logos mean the bike doesn't draw attention to itself, but it really should receive a lot of attention. Not only is the ONE+ hardtail frame among the lightest mountain bike frames anywhere, but its one of our favorite mountain bikes around, regardless of weight. We are proud to offer the OPEN ONE+ GX Eagle Complete Bike build, a hardtail mountain bike that offers serious performance.
The OPEN ONE+ is all about versatility. It fits 29 x 2.4" (27.5" x 2.4" in size S) with ease, or a 27.5 x 3.0" (26 x 3.0" in size S) plus tire. The additional width and air volume gives a massive increase in traction and compliance to an otherwise race-ready cross country platform. For those looking for the lively, snappy, and lightweight ride of a hardtail, the ONE+ checks all the boxes. What's most remarkable about the ONE+ is how planted it feels on the trail, especially over rocks and sand. Plus tires stick to loose dirt like glue, and combined with the bike's low overall weight, it is the best of both worlds. It's become a shop favorite for many of the rides in and around Salt Lake City, Park City, and beyond.
Gerard and Andy's goal of keeping OPEN small and dynamic means they only offer two models (Unbeaten Path U.P. and ONE+), and only offer them as frame-only. For the bike-obsessed among us who spend weeks hand-selecting every component, this means every OPEN is a blank canvas for building our own dream bike. However, that sky's-the-limit bike build can get complex and costly, and far from timely. Because of this, we've curated our own, exclusive OPEN ONE+ GX Eagle Complete Bike, with just a few options to make it perfect for you.
We based our build on our owner's personal ONE+ (and several ONE+ bikes we've put together), choosing high-quality, highly functioning parts to match the OPEN's own attention to detail. The Rockshox SID RLC 100mm fork 29er/27.5"+ is light, accurate, and in our experience very reliable. Keeping with simplicity, we've selected the latest SRAM 1x12 GX Eagle drivetrain, which functions extremely well and is a great value. A Race Face handlebar, stem and seatpost help keep the build lightweight. We've selected Stan's No Tubes Flow MK3 Wheels (27.5"+) and Stan's No Tubes Crest MK3 Wheels (29er), depending on preferred build kit.. You can view the detailed spec below or in our "specifications" tab.
Whether you’re heading to Salt Lake City, or prefer we ship your OPEN ONE+ GX Eagle Complete bike to you, we’ll do a full, professional bike build, dialing in shifting and braking, suspension tuning, etc. If you’re unsure about sizing, give us a call or email us at info@contenderbicycles.com to talk through geometry and fit. And although this is a “stock bike,” we are more than happy to discuss options of this build.
