Famed for their construction of aluminum frames, Cannondale has upped the ante once again with their new Cannondale CAAD12 Ultegra. This frame boasts a lighter weight, increased stiffness, and increased compliance over it CAAD10 predecessor. Matching this impressive frame are its Shimano Ultegra components and Mavic Aksium Elite wheels that provide an efficient ride at a great value.
With 6069 alloy, Cannondale uses their SmartFormed process to provide specific thicknesses and sizes throughout the bikes tubing for precise performance in all areas of the frame. It uses an hourglass shaped headtube that cuts down on weight without affecting its stiffness so you can accelerate faster. It also uses a lightweight, Cannondale HollowGram Si crank that works with a stiff and fat, 73mm BB30a bottom bracket to give you a narrower stance on the pedals, allowing you to generate more power.
Speed Save technology has been built into the fork and redesigned chainstays, seatstays, and seat tube, creating micro-suspension zones that absorb the chatter of the road as you ride to prevent muscle fatigue and keep things smooth and in control. The bike also uses a 25.4mm seatpost that with greater compliance to further smooth out bumps for an easier ride on your sit-bones. The all-carbon fork keeps things compliant up front while it also keeps things laterally stiff for precise, tight turns and responsive handling.
To bring race proven technology to the serious cycling enthusiast, this bike uses a Shimano Ultegra groupset with great ergonomics, responsive shifting, and durability. With 11 speeds, you have plenty of options to help you climb with ease. The bike’s Mavic Aksium Elite wheels hold up in rough conditions and are virtually flex-free with their aero bladed spokes, delivering a stiff, fast ride.
The Cannondale CAAD12 Ultegra is available in eight sizes, 48 – 63. It is available in the color Black Anodized with Charcoal Grey.
