Scott is not a company that sticks to the status quo. Between their suspension design, adherence to technologies like their TwinLoc suspension remote, and dedication to making some of the lightest bikes available, they know what they like and stick to it. Scott’s Gambler downhill bike is no exception, with a distinctive rear shock design, light-yet-sturdy frame, and overall adjustability. Now is your chance to take advantage of one of the best downhill bikes on the market, the 2018 Scott Gambler 720 Demo Bike, at an excellent price.
The Scott Gambler 720 is a no compromises DH weapon with custom race tuned FOX Suspension and World Cup proven components. The 27.5″ wheels ensure excellent maneuverability going down the mountain, but is also designed to run 26″ wheels without issue. This is thanks to adjustable BB height, head angle and chainstay length allow similar geometry to be achieved with both wheel sizes. Further, it’s new-for-2018 Floating Linkage design is more active than before, to provide superior grip at the beginning of the stroke, with more deep stroke support.
Gambler isn’t a bike for those who grab a fistful of brake every chance they can get. This bike is happiest at speed, eating up rocks and roots with an insatiable appetite. That’s not to say the rider has to adjust to the bike; the Gambler offers bottom bracket height adjustment, adjustable headset angle via a Scott angleset, and adjustable chainstay length. With 210 mm suspension travel, there isn’t much this bike can’t do, provided you like to carry speed.
Our 2018 Scott Gambler 720 Demo Bike uses an alloy frame, a 203 mm Fox 40 FIT 4 Performance Elite, and a Fox VAN RC Coil with 210 mm travel. Sycros offers their angle-adjustable headset, and a SRAM GX DH groupset pairs to SRAM Code R brakes and a Truvativ Descendant crankset. A Syncros MD30 Disc/Formula 27.5″ wheelset and Syncros handlebar, stem, seatpost, and saddle complete the build.
