It’s easy to mistake the 2018 Scott Genius 700/900 Tuned for other models, notably the Scott Spark and Ransom mountain bikes. That’s no bad thing; the Spark is an award-winning bike that shows how versatile a cross-country model line can truly be, while the Ransom has won reviewers over with it’s low weight and genre-defining climbing ability. In redesigning the Genius, Scott have taken that same philosophy and made the Genius more efficient, lighter, and more versatile than ever. The Scott Genius redefines what a modern trail mountain bike is capable of, without compromise.
Scott bikes have always been fairly conservative when it comes to geometry, but the new Genius 700/900 Tuned breaks from that trend in an effort to bring greater pedaling efficiency with great capability on descents. They’ve used short 438mm chainstays in conjunction with a steep 75 degree seattube to ensure the bike scampers up trails with the best mountain bikes, while longer reach across the range, a slack 65 degree headtube, and low bottom bracket instill a feeling of being in the bike and not on it. It rewards the rider with smooth, confident handling at speed and impressive light weight and agility on the steepest of climbs. Please refer to the geometry tab for more information regarding sizing.
