If you’re looking at this page, you’re likely to already know what you’re looking for. Fat bikes all look the same at first glance, but there are critical things that make each bike a bit more unique than the rest. One thing that most fat bikes have it common is.. A bit of fat around the edges. Maybe they don’t pedal well, or perhaps the pedals are so far apart that it feels like your feet are a mile apart. Either way, the 2019 Cannondale Fat CAAD 2 fat bike takes proven geometry and a lightweight frame to make a fat bike without the fat.
Cannondale uses short 456mm chainstays, which paired with the 69 degree head tube angle makes the bike very nimble. Add in the fact that the Fat CAAD has one of the narrowest Q-factors on the market for a 4.8″ capable fat bike means that weary knees won’t feel the burn of a bike with widely-spaced pedals. A wide Q-factor can cause quick discomfort, leading many riders to cut rides short. This sets the Fat CAAD apart from the competition.
The 2019 Cannondale Fat CAAD 2 uses a C1 alloy frame, a rigid suspension-corrected alloy fork and a Shimano SLX 1×11 drivetrain. A Cannondale Si crankset, SRAM Level brakes, Sun Ringle Mulefüt 80 SL wheels, and 26 x 4.0″ Maxxis Minion tires complete the build. The Fat CAAD is available in five sizes (XS-XL).
