Even if something is your favorite food, you might still want to add some hot sauce. A little kick doesn’t hurt, and done right only amplifies what makes a dish so good. Think of the pedal assist drive unit in the 2020 SCOTT Genius eRide 910 e-MTB as that extra kick to get up the trails. With similar geometry, suspension kinematics, and handling to the standard Genius, you’re sure to be able to explore the mountains like never before.
The 2020 SCOTT Genius eRide 910 not only features the best of what Scott have to offer, but it features some of the most advanced design on the market. Scott started by adapting what they learned from their World Cup-winning Scott Spark redesign; namely, a redesigned rear swingarm and shock mount. The Genius pairs a lightweight alloy frame to a trunnion-mount rear shock. This is an upgrade in every sense of the word, as the bike is now stiffer, lighter, and much more responsive under acceleration. The redesigned kinematics provide much better small bump compliance while doing a fantastic job at preventing the shock from ever bottoming out.
The Shimano STEPS E8000 drive unit is proven to be torquey, reliable, and smooth, making it an excellent companion on the trial. 70Nm of torque and 250W power come smoothly and without drama, and the 504 Wh battery ensures plenty of juice for a myriad of rides. A speed sensor is integrated into rear wheel by the dropout, which is done to offer consistent and accurate system readings. Perhaps best of all is the small display Shimano offers; the Di2-like display on the handlebar is compact, but easy to understand, read and use.
The 2020 SCOTT Genius eRide 910 is based around 29” wheels and an alloy frame and swingarm. A Fox Float 36 Float Performance Elite fork and a Fox NUDE T EVOL Trunnion rear shock offer 120mm of suspension travel. A SRAM NX Eagle 12 speed drivetrain offer plenty of range to get up every hill, while Shimano ZEE brakes ensure proper stopping power at every descent. A Syncros X-30S/Formula wheelset, a Fox Transfer dropper seatpost, Syncros touchpoints, and a Schwalbe Magic Mary/Hans Dampf 29 x 2.6” tire pairing complete the bike. The Spark eRide is available in four sizes (S-XL).
