Your bike should be exactly what you want it to be. You want the gearing to offer a wider range for a wider range of terrains, climbs, and descents? You want your bike to be a certain color? You should have it; you deserve it. Even if you buy a new bike, you’re not always going to get it exactly how you want it. Between all the possible changes, from a different handlebars, down to getting the proper fit on your bike, there is plenty of variation and even more opportunities to make the perfect bike for you. Our 3T Exploro Team Ultegra Di2 Bike is just that, a build kit from the frame up to help you build your perfect bicycle.
Gerard Vroomen has put his Gravel Plus concept to great use here too, and in doing so allowing the rider – using one set of 700c wheels – to run their choice of road tires, from 23-40mm wide, to rugged cyclocross rubber with ample clearance for either. This design can also run a set of 27.5 mountain bike wheels with up to a 2.2 inch knobby, giving you the chance to ride a road bike where there is no road. Offered as a frame and fork only, there are almost endless options in building your Exploro to best suit your needs. Dirt drop bar with 2 inch knobbies? No problem. Supple 40c tires, Di2 shifting and ENVE aero bars? Can do.
3T’s been hard at work updating the Exploro, and this model receives a few useful upgrades over the previous 3T Exploro Team. The flatmount frame cuts 60g from the previous Team frameset, but receives 12mm thru axles front and rear, flat mount brakes, and an overhauled seatpost clamp that is top mounted for easy access and serviceability. It also receives the new 3T Fango fork, which is completely redesigned to match the Sqaero tube shaping of the frameset. Custom fender sets will be available down the line as well.
The Exploro is all about versatility, so we’ve hand selected parts that offer awesome performance on road, cross, gravel, bike packing, or anything that may lie ahead. A Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic drivetrain is exceptionally smooth, reliable, offers wide gear range options. We use an Easton alloy cockpit and seatpost as a starting point, with a Fabric Scoop saddle alongside. Stan’s No Tubes is synonymous with light weight tubeless wheel and tire setups, and our two preferred wheelsets, the Stan’s Grail S1 wheelset for 700c or the Stan’s Arch S1 wheelset for 27.5”, provide an excellent combination of reliability, stiffness, and low weight. 700c wheels save weight and roll better on smoother surfaces, while the 27.5” mountain bike wheelset offer additional durability for rougher trails, and their extra width gives knobbies better bite and a plusher ride.
Whether you’re heading to Salt Lake City, or prefer we ship your 3T Exploro Team Ultegra Di2 Bike to you, we’ll do a full, professional bike build, dialing in shifting and braking, truing wheels, etc. If you’re unsure about sizing, give us a call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to talk through geometry and fit.
