The key to the BMC Roadmachine RM01 Disc and its unique blend of performance and everyday usability starts with their re-Tuned Compliance Concept, with the goal of making the bike as fast as possible while making the bike as comfortable as possible. This approach called for asymmetric, flared chainstays and a massive downtube for optimal stiffness where it matters; key points like a D-shaped seatpost, integrated seat clamp, and tuned seatstays encourage compliance where it’s needed most. BMC have also included other go-fast bits like their Integrated Cockpit System (ICS), eliminating any type of visible cabling or wiring between the handlebar to the bicycle’s rear axle. The bottom bracket is low, and overall geometry strikes an interesting chord between a race bike and an upright endurance bike. These concessions to comfort make the Roadmachine that much more usable in just about any situation a road bike might be used.
How does the BMC Roadmachine RM01 RED eTap AXS feel on the road? For a bike with as much technology as is crammed in as this, sublimely. The first noticeable part of the bike is how fast it feels right out of the gate, as the bike’s overall design skews more toward the unforgivingly quick BMC Teammachine. Stomp on the pedals, and the bike scoots forward, reminiscent of a superbike. The next noticeable characteristic is what happens when the bike finds choppy pavement: it soaks it up in the same way that an upright endurance road bike does. It then combines these seemingly at-odds qualities and builds the bike without feeling wallowy, soft, or slow. Disc brakes accent the high levels of competences, with wiring and hosing neatly tucked away in the stem and frame. 30mm wide tires (max) help out quite a bit in making this happen, but in the end it is off of good engineering that the Roadmachine RM01 succeeds.
We are pleased to offer the BMC Roadmachine RM01 frameset, built with some of the very best parts available on the market today. A wireless SRAM RED eTap AXS group is flanked by a HED Ardennes Plus LT disc wheelset, a Fabric Scoop Elite Saddle, and an Easton EA70 Compact handlebar. As this is a custom build, parts are easily interchangeable and can be chosen according to your exact specifications.
