With the Cannondale Synapse Carbon Disc 105’s upright geometry and optimal compliance you get a plush ride, but are still able to generate plenty of speed and acceleration thanks to its stiff BallisTec carbon frame. The price won’t set you back either, with Shimano 105 components and RD 2.0 Disc wheels that perform high above their price point.
With a BallisTec carbon frame, you get the stiffness needed to efficiently transfer every bit of your effort to a quick acceleration for fast times on the road. The Power Pyramid, an asymmetrical split in the seat tube, allows this frame to use a wide BB30a bottom bracket that gives a stiff platform for pedaling so you can pedal as hard as you want knowing it will all be transferred into speed. To keep things compliant, however, and comfy in the saddle, the bike uses SAVE PLUS technology in the rear triangle, eating up the bumps for a smooth ride.
The Shimano 105 groupset may be Shimano’s entry-level offering, but it performs high above its level. It offers 11 speeds that are smooth running with responsive, accurate shifting. The bike’s powerful hydraulic disc brakes allow you to stop in a hurry when the speed generated from the lightweight, yet stiff, Cannondale Si crank is a little too much. With RD 2.0 Disc wheels, however, you always have a reliable, stable base for rolling at any speed.
The Cannondale Synapse Carbon Disc 105 is available in six sizes, 48 – 61. It comes in the color Jet Black with Magensium White and Berserker Green.
