Just right is how we’d describe the Santa Cruz Bronson long-travel bike. There are bikes that are longer, bikes that are slacker, and bikes that are blingier. But the Bronson is about consistent performance. Ride it on your favorite enduro bike courses and rough trails and it hardly breaks a sweat. All-day rides are just as easy, as 150 mm suspension and lower-link VPP suspension make for an ever-capable all arounder. The 2021 Santa Cruz Bronson CC enduro bike is the just-right bike ready for wherever your ride leads you.
If you’re looking at the Bronson, more likely than not you appreciate the best the cycling industry has to offer. The Bronson CC does just that, with the same stiffness and durability of the cheaper carbon C frame with a half-pound less weight. Besides that, you get all the goods: Santa Cruz’s lower-link mounted shock configuration and VPP kinematics for a supportive mid-stroke, smooth bottom out, and just-right damping through rocky descents. The frame is designed for excellent standover clearance, excellent dropper post clearance. Out back there are also ISCG 05 tabs, a molded chainstay protector that matches the bottom bracket and downtube protectors, and clearance for up to a 27.5 x 2.8” plus tire. Yes, the Santa Cruz Bronson can take plus tires, a beneficial bit of versatility for any trail rider looking for extra comfort on their all-day ride.
For many people, a 150mm travel all-mountain bike might seem like “too much bike”. It’s definitely more capable than a normal trail bike; its slack head tube angle means it requires a bit more weight on the front wheel in corners to make it grip. What’s surprising about the Bronson is how well it rides over a myriad of terrain. The Bronson has always been playful and poppy, it’s just that this new one is better than ever at getting down the hill with pace.
The Santa Cruz Bronson CC is available in five sizes (XS-XL), two colorways.
