The 3T Exploro is the original aero gravel bike, but even after its original release in 2016 there are few true competitors. It's a gravel bike that fits in next to your Cannondale SystemSix aero road bike and a TwinLoc-equipped SCOTT Genius mountain bike. Many bikes are tech-driven; why can't your next gravel bike be built with tech in mind just like yours? The 3T Exploro Pro Rival does just that, by bringing premium technology and design to a manageable pricepoint.
Each Exploro shares some DNA with the OPEN UP. This includes a lot of similarities in reach and stack measurements, though the Exploro has a slightly lower front end and shorter 415 mm chainstays that make the bike a touch more nimble, and slightly more aggressive in handling. This is paired to a beefy aero-tuned downtube called Sqaero. At 32km/h, 3T claims that a mud-spattered Exploro equipped with two water bottles and 40mm CX tyres suffers ~10% less drag than a road bike with round tubing and 28mm tyres. That doesn’t mean the Exploro will ever rival an aero road bike, but it certainly is more aero than any other gravel bike on the market.
Fit it with chunky 27.5 x 2.1" tires for your all-day backcountry epic, or ride it with 700 x 28c tires for your Sunday morning group ride. The Exploro is ready for both and can do it all with ease. It's about fun, with the added benefit of aerodynamics. And while aero might not help during low-speed, it is a nice benefit to have.
The 3T Exploro Pro Rival gravel bike features their Pro level carbon frame and 3T Fango Pro fork. A SRAM Rival 1 drivetrain with an 11-42t cassette, Fulcrum Racing 7 DB wheels, and Schwalbe G-One Allroad 700x38c, and 3T bars complete the build. Exploro is available in four sizes (SM-XL).
