Product Details

The OPEN WIDE ENVE Edition frameset is an elevated version of the OPEN WIDE frame. Not just a fancy paint job, the ENVE Edition features small changes that up the capability of the bike without sacrificing anything. This gravel bike frameset still has all the key bits that make the WIDE so good: great tire clearance, wonderful ride quality, and the ability to build it however you want with Contender.

This collaboration with ENVE features an array of neat touches. The green to yellow fade invokes the lust for adventure we as cyclists have. Just before the color gradient is unique topographic detail. Complementing the limited edition frame is a color-matched fork, utilizing the new ENVE Adventure fork rather than a standard OPEN U-Turn fork. The ENVE Adventure fork features three accessory mounts on each fork leg, axle flip chips to tune your ride, as well as internal dynamo routing for powering lights or electronics. Besides supporting a local company in Utah, the ENVE Adventure fork can fit up to a 29 x 2.3" tire or a larger still 27.5 x 2.6" tire as well. Beautiful and functional.

Besides that, this frame is classic OPEN WIDE. It fits a 27.5 x 2.4" or 700 x 46c tire without taking away too much from the bike's geometry. Add in a fourth cage mount under the bottom bracket, a 1.5 cm taller headtube, a slightly lower bottom bracket height, a new XS size, and boom, a new bike that handles similarly to the U.P. but has different capabilities.

The WI.DE uses dropped chainstays on both sides to create the massive 2.4" tire clearance. OPEN says this increases bottom bracket stiffness, but we dig that this adds more tire clearance while maintaining the road bike-like 420 mm chainstays and maintaining similar geometry in sizes. Despite all of these changes, the new WI.DE weighs the same as the U.P., at 1040 grams for a frame and 390 g for a fork.

We've also worked hard to create aggressively-priced build kits to help you build your ideal bike.
