Like the Dura Ace 9000 chain the Shimano Ultegra/XT HG791 chain is SIL-TEC treated. Chain's with SIL-TEC have 60% less friction, are 20% more wear and abrasion resistant, shed mud 30% better than zink coated chains. The 6800 chain uses solid pins to bring down the cost of the chain at the expense of a little weight.
