Orbea understands the divisions in the road bike world, with some bikes optimized for climbing, others for aerodynamics, and others for endurance. Recognizing that one bike can't excel in all areas, Orbea has focused on creating a climbing powerhouse with the new Orca. The 7th generation Orbea Orca is designed to deliver the best climbing experience through superior power transfer, agile handling, vibration damping, and remarkably light weight.

Celebrating 20 years of the Orca, this latest model achieves its climbing prowess by minimizing overlaps in the carbon frame layup and carefully shaping the frame to eliminate "sharp" edges where epoxy might gather, adding unnecessary weight. Orbea also manages the overall weight by selecting components like their OC Performance cockpits and the new Oquo wheels. Even the paint and frame hardware are handled at Orbea's Basque Country HQ, giving them full control over what adds or subtracts weight from the bike.

The appeal of a lightweight bike is undeniable, but without performance, light weight alone isn’t enough. The Orca is meticulously engineered to deliver an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio, agile handling, and responsive acceleration. Slightly shorter chain-stays enhance agility, rounder tube shapes reduce energy-sapping vibrations, and wider tire clearance accommodates up to 32mm tires for added versatility. 

While aerodynamics aren't the primary focus of the new Orca, Orbea hasn't neglected the benefits of aero-optimization. When aerodynamics don't compromise weight or ride quality, they are integrated seamlessly. Orbea’s "ICR" cable routing minimizes drag up front, and the new seat clamp mechanism is designed to reduce surface area and improve aerodynamics. Built on Orbea’s nearly century-long expertise in performance and design, the new Orca combines timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. The M35i variant features Orbea's cost-efficient "OMR" carbon frame, a 12-speed Shimano 105 Di2 drivetrain, and Oquo wheels.
