Ernie's Best Builds: The Pink Panther OPEN U.P. RTP
Ernie the corgi is known around these parts for his discerning taste in bicycles. This year, we wanted to highlight some of his favorite bike builds. Day three of Ernie's Best Builds goes to what we like to call The Pink Panther. This gravel bike is decked out with an ENVE G23 gravel bike wheelset as well as an ENVE handlebar, stem, and seatpost. Matching that is a Shimano Ultegra Di2/Deore XT Di2/Easton EC90 SL mix with an E*Thirteen TRS 9-46t cassette that offers a wider gear range than SRAM Eagle's 10-50t. Add in the custom-painted U.P. frameset, and this bike is sure to be unique. Pink can sometimes feel a bit overdone, but this custom-painted OPEN U.P. RTP has the right amount of pink in between the swaths of grey. Most custom paint job go with a offset color for the OPEN logo, but this goes one step further with a gloss pink logo, gloss pink on the inside of the seat and chainstays, and gloss pink on the inside of the fork to counteract the matte grey. It really pops under direct light, making for something that tasteful and very easy on the eyes. Have any questions about the OPEN U.P.?
