Designed for mixed-terrain riding from smooth tarmac to demanding gravel, the Fulcrum Sharq 42 is the latest wheelset developed in Fulcrum’s Red Room Lab. Extensive wind-tunnel testing and real-world analysis result in a wheel that blends confident handling, aerodynamic efficiency, and long-term durability into one highly versatile package.

At its core is Fulcrum’s innovative 2-Wave Rim design, combining a symmetrical leading-edge wave with an asymmetrical side profile. With a variable rim height between 42 and 47mm, the Sharq 42 maintains speed efficiently while significantly improving stability in crosswinds—delivering up to 30% greater wind resistance compared to traditional constant-profile rims.

Constructed from Fulcrum’s proprietary FF100 carbon, the rim is lightweight and reactive, helping keep total wheelset weight to just 1,440 grams. A 25mm internal rim width supports modern tires starting at 30mm, offering excellent performance on both road and gravel. Mini-hooks allow safe use with tubeless or tube-type tires, while the undrilled rim bed makes the Sharq tubeless-native with no rim tape required.

Precision aluminum hubs, USB ceramic bearings, and Fulcrum’s 2:1 spoke lacing deliver smooth rolling efficiency and responsive acceleration. With centerlock disc compatibility and 12×100 / 12×142 thru-axle standards, the Sharq 42 is a true all-road wheelset built to adapt to every ride.
