Beautiful Bicycle: Orbea Orca Aero

Beautiful Bicycle: Orbea Orca Aero

The Orbea Orca Aero needs little introduction here at Contender, but Orbea’s MyO customization program deserves one. Beyond paint, Orbea allows riders to tailor their build from color choices down to chainring selection. This particular Orca Aero M20iLTD leans heavily into the paint side of the equation, pairing Metallic Cobalt Blue with White Chic for a clean sea-to-sky transition. It stays largely stock otherwise, proof that sometimes the right canvas only needs the right color story.

Frame

At the center of the build is the Orca Aero frameset, a platform distinct from the standard Orca in both shaping and intent. The tube profiles are sharp and sculpted, with integration that keeps the silhouette uninterrupted. The cobalt blue and White Chic are separated by a crisp, deliberate line, creating strong contrast across the frame. The depth of the metallic blue makes the white appear even brighter, giving the entire bike a clean, high-definition finish.

Drivetrain

Shifting duties fall to Shimano Ultegra Di2, precise and quietly dependable. A 52/36t crankset paired with an 11–30t cassette strikes a practical balance for local terrain, offering range for the climbs without sacrificing road speed. The front derailleur remains a standout, delivering crisp engagement under load. It is a setup that favors consistency and familiarity over experimentation.

Wheels & Tires

Oquo RP45LTD wheels give the Orca Aero a proportional 45mm stance that complements the frame’s lines without exaggeration. Wrapped in Vittoria Corsa N.Ext G2.0 tires in 700x28, the profile feels modern and planted. The grey tire logos stay subtle and understated, keeping the branding from becoming a distraction. Not every component needs to shout.

Cockpit & Contact Points

Up front, the fully integrated OC SH-RA10 carbon cockpit keeps the front end clean and uninterrupted. Internal routing reinforces the frame’s streamlined design while maintaining a comfortable hand position for long efforts. The integration feels intentional and tidy. It is a front end that supports the aesthetic without demanding attention.
