XDS X-LAB
X-LAB evolved out of three decades of engineering expertise, representing the concentration of XDS’ most advanced technologies into an elite cycling platform. Founded in 1995 in Shenzhen by an engineer driven more by curiosity than trend, XDS has always placed materials science and structural integrity first. What followed was a steady evolution toward manufacturing perfection, resulting in one of the most advanced vertically integrated bicycle ecosystems in the world today.
With over 15,000 employees, multiple global production hubs, and the capacity to produce millions of bikes annually, scale has never been the goal—but it does provide the foundation to further develop mastery. Backed by a dedicated carbon manufacturing facility spanning 80,000 square meters and staffed by more than 200 R&D engineers, XDS produces everything from frames to wheels to handlebars with exacting control and rigorous testing. The result is equipment trusted at the highest levels of the sport, including the WorldTour.
With tube profiles carefully developed to reduce wind resistance and maintain momentum, X-LAB’s AD9 is a WorldTour-worthy, supremely dialed aerodynamic wonder. It slices through the wind as if it weren’t there.
The RT9 is the lightest production road bike in the world. It comes in at an incredible 550 grams for the frame and 6.2 kilograms for the complete bike—so you can attain that ever-sought-after feeling of flying uphill.
Equally at home lining up for an event, tackling weekend training rides, or handling long commutes, the RS7 brings high performance to everyday riding at an accessible price.
Contender is proud to carry X-LAB’s high-end road machines, and our team is ready to help you choose the right one for your ride.
Performance Built With Purpose
New to the US market, X-LAB combines advanced carbon construction, thoughtful design, and strong overall value across its performance lineup. Raced at the highest level by the XDS-Astana Team, the brand brings together refined spec, clean integration, and a premium ride feel for riders looking for something fresh in the road and gravel category.
X-LAB AD9
Built for the demands of the WorldTour, the AD9 is X-LAB’s take on a modern aero race bike—fast on the flats, efficient on the climbs, and confident on the descent. Rather than chasing aerodynamic gains in isolation, the AD9 focuses on usable speed. The frame is constructed from Toray T1100 carbon fiber, one of the most advanced structural materials available, delivering a high stiffness-to-weight ratio that translates into the kind of responsiveness and control you want in a race bike you’ll ride all day. The AD9’s tube profiles are carefully developed to reduce resistance and maintain momentum. The result is a bike that slices through the varied terrain and less-than-ideal conditions you find in the real world. Raced by the XDS Astana WorldTour Team, the AD9 has proven itself in the demanding environments it was built for. X-LAB’s AD9 is a race bike for every challenge—it cuts through the wind as if it weren’t there, meeting every challenge with consistent, efficient performance.
X-LAB RT9
At only 550 grams for the frame and 6.2 kilograms for the full bike, the X-LAB RT9 is the lightest production road bike in the world. Built using a blend of Toray T1100 and M40X carbon fiber, it reflects a clear priority: reduce weight wherever possible while preserving the structural integrity needed for elite competition. With a purposeful round-tube architecture, the design reflects engineering purity at its finest. Its instantaneous responsiveness and climbing efficiency needs to be experienced to be understood—it just feels effortless. The RT9 is built for riders who want the incredible feeling of flying uphill—only attainable with the lightest bikes in the world.
X-LAB RS7
The RS7 is a race-influenced road bike that brings top performance to everyday riding at an unbeatable price. Built around the fundamentals—speed, responsive handling, and an efficient carbon frame that feels quick under power, it’s equally at home during weekend training sessions, commutes, or fast group rides. Its carbon construction, fully integrated carbon bar, Branta alloy power meter crankset, and 105 groupset bring a level of performance you’d expect from higher-ticket race bikes. The RS7 delivers a refined ride quality that stays consistent across changing terrain for a fraction of the cost of similarly-appointed bikes. The RS7 keeps things simple—it’s a fast, versatile, affordable road bike that doesn’t ask for attention but will undeniably get it.
