What e-bikes are eligible for trade-in?
Upway accepts eligible e-bikes manufactured after 2014 with certified lithium-ion batteries. Bikes cannot have structural frame damage and must include the battery, charger, and any required keys.
Does my e-bike need to be in perfect condition?
No. Normal cosmetic wear, like scuffs and scratches are okay. The important things are that the bike is structurally sound, powers on, runs properly, and matches the information submitted for the estimate.
How does the trade-in process work?
Start by getting an estimate through the Upway pricing tool. Then bring your e-bike to Contender so we can confirm the bike matches the estimate and is ready for trade-in. Once approved, your trade-in value can be applied toward your next bike right away.
What should I bring with my e-bike?
Bring the e-bike, battery, charger, and any keys associated with the battery or bike. Upway requires those items for an eligible trade-in.
Can I complete the trade-in online?
No. You can get your estimate online, but the trade-in itself must be completed in-store at Contender so our team can inspect the bike before accepting it.
What happens to my e-bike after I trade it in?
Once the trade-in is complete, Upway handles the pickup and logistics from Contender.
Do I get cash for my e-bike?
No. Trade-in value is issued as Contender store credit toward your next bike.
