Rolling Watchlist: Lanterne Rouge

Written by Joseph Bonacci on February 16, 2026

We first found Lanterne Rouge’s YouTube highlights in 2021 while lamenting the lack of bike racing during the pandemic. That year, Paris-Roubaix was a truly attritional race, held in a complete downpour, and you could barely tell who was who by the finish. Sonny Colbrelli took home the cobblestone trophy before having to retire the following year due to a heart defect.

Since then, Lanterne Rouge has taken his content to the next level, offering in-depth analysis of races throughout the season. His knowledge of strategy, positioning, and talent spotting earned him a role as Head of Strategy for Team Visma | Lease a Bike, where he worked closely with the team on selections for everything from Grand Tours to ProSeries one-day races. He’s worth adding to your watchlist if you’re anything like us, people who live for the strategy behind the racing.

What is Rolling Watchlist

Not everything worth watching fits neatly into a product launch, race recap, or technical deep dive. Rolling Watchlist is a weekly Friday journal where we share cycling-related videos we’ve been enjoying lately—anything from race highlights and team documentaries to short films, behind-the-scenes features, or just something that caught our attention.

It’s meant to be easy viewing: something to throw on during a bit of downtime, while on the trainer, or between rides. The common thread isn’t a specific discipline or format, but content that captures the broader world of cycling beyond specs, sales pitches, and headline results.
