The Cane Creek 40 IS42/28.6 / IS42/30 Tall Cover Headset is part of Cane Creek’s 40-Series, offering a dependable balance of performance, durability, and value. Designed for integrated (IS) headset standards, it allows the bearings to sit directly within the frame’s head tube without the need for traditional pressed cups.

It features sealed cartridge bearings for long-term, low-maintenance performance, 6061 T-6 aluminum cups, and a durable steel crown race with integrated sealing to help protect against dirt and moisture. The system also incorporates Cane Creek’s Clip-Seal design, which helps secure the compression ring and reduce loose parts during installation and service.

ZN40 bearings are used for improved corrosion resistance and long service life in real-world riding conditions. The headset is compatible with straight 1-1/8" steerers and supports Cane Creek’s Interlok spacer system for secure stack retention.

The 40-Series uses a 36°/45° bearing contact angle system (standard across most Cane Creek headsets) to promote smooth steering performance and long-term durability.
