Cervélo S5 Red AXS 1
Product Details
The Cervélo S5 is the benchmark for aerodynamic speed in professional cycling, with an unmatched legacy of victories that speaks for itself. From Wout van Aert claiming the Green Jersey by the largest margin in modern history to Simon Yates riding into the maglia rosa, the S5's iconic V-stem and bayonet fork have become fixtures at the front of the professional peloton. The new S5 builds on that legendary foundation by getting even faster, delivering 6.3 watts of additional performance while shedding 124 grams, proving that aerodynamic progression and lightweight efficiency work in harmony.
The most significant aerodynamic gains come from the front end of the bike, where speed is truly decided. The fork legs and head tube are notably deeper, creating a more efficient fairing that splits oncoming air with precision. The all-new one-piece HB19 handlebar and stem builds directly on the original V-stem concept while advancing it further. The Plus-Four design principle makes the dimension at the hoods 4 centimeters narrower than in the drops, helping riders maintain a more aerodynamic body position on the hoods while providing stability in the drops for descending and sprinting, all while remaining UCI-legal.
Despite the increase in surface area from deeper fork and head tube sections, Cervélo optimized the layup and hardware to make the complete system lighter. The asymmetric profiles of the seat tube and rear wheel provide additional aerodynamic benefits that integrate seamlessly into the overall system design.
Cervélo and Reserve co-developed the Reserve 57|64 Turbulent Aero wheels specifically for the S5, ensuring air flows smoothly over both frame and wheel as a unified aerodynamic system. The rear wheel's asymmetry matches the seat tube profile, while delivering 3 watts of additional speed compared to previous generations at identical weight.
SRAM Red AXS E1 drivetrain with integrated power meter delivers electronic precision across all conditions, while the Reserve 42|49TA wheels provide proven aerodynamic and climbing performance.
