Product Details
The Pinarello XC GX Eagle AXS was crafted in partnership with INEOS Grenadiers riders Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, who have already secured major victories on this bike, including world titles in 2023. This high-performance cross-country bike combines innovative engineering with state-of-the-art technology to provide exceptional performance.
The frame's bottom bracket area is designed to provide maximum stiffness, featuring an oversized bearing and pivot point. This results in enhanced power transfer and improved overall efficiency, making it ideal for demanding riding conditions.
The integration of FlexStays significantly contributes to the bike's performance by allowing rear wheel travel despite having only three pivot points on the rear triangle. This unique design, combined with the FlexStays, results in a smoother, more comfortable ride while reducing weight and improving stiffness. The connection between the rider and rear wheel is more direct, providing superior control and responsiveness.
The rear suspension kinematics are optimized to maximize energy transfer during pedaling, improve compression/rebound for technical descents, and provide maximum control for the rider. The use of a mixed bearing/bushing system at each pivot point reduces friction, with bushings absorbing high-impact forces and bearings handling low-impact, high-rotation forces. This design minimizes energy loss, boosts rear-end reactivity, and ensures long-lasting durability.
The adjustable travel feature provides the flexibility to change the rear shock absorber, allowing riders to customize suspension settings based on different terrains, offering a personalized ride experience.
The asymmetric rear triangle uses a patented design, reinforcing the left-hand side to counterbalance the higher forces applied to the opposite side of the drivetrain. This improves energy transfer, enhances speed, and provides better traction. The concept of asymmetry is also applied to other frame components, including the chain and seat stays, ensuring the bike can withstand the powerful accelerations in elite cross-country races.
The custom-built cockpit is fully integrated to save weight and provide superior handling precision compared to traditional two-piece setups. It also includes integrated cable routing and a specific headset bearing with an internal stopper to prevent over-rotation of the handlebars, ensuring smooth and controlled steering.
