Backordered/Pre-ordered Bike Policy
Contender Bicycles frequently allows customers to pre-order and reserve a bicycle for which we have an estimated ship date. Shipping dates are estimates provided by bike manufacturers and are subject to change based on availability and supply-chain circumstances.
When pre-ordering a backorder bicycle from Contender Bicycles, the customer accepts the following conditions. We encourage customers to contact Contender Bicycles to verify model, size, color and build availability before completing an order for a bicycle.
- A deposit is required to pre-order a bicycle from Contender Bicycles.
- Upon order, Contender Bicycles will confirm the estimated date of arrival of the bike in Salt Lake City and communicate that date with the customer.
- The customer may cancel the pre-order at any time before the bicycle is ready to ship and receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
- If the customer decides to purchase a different bicycle from Contender Bicycles before taking delivery of the pre-ordered bicycle, the full deposit may be applied toward the purchase of the alternate bicycle, with any remaining balance refunded to the customer.

The Santa Cruz Blur 5 CC is made for trails, whether you're racing for podiums or hammering into the sunrise. This platform delivers a combination of suspension, geometry, and chassis engineering capable of reaching the top step. The rest is up to you. A lightweight and immensely capable short-travel trail bike, the Blur takes cross-country racing and injects uncompromising attitude into every ride, Monday through Sunday.
Santa Cruz bumped up the travel, updated the geometry, and spent considerable time tweaking suspension kinematics to encourage riders to obliterate the boundaries of what a traditional XC bike can do. The Blur delivers 120mm of travel front and rear, up from the previous generation's 110mm, with zero weight penalty. A more progressive leverage curve reduces pedal bob and adds mid-stroke support, so climbing efficiency and descending confidence both improve dramatically.
Modern XC geometry combines a 66-degree head angle, 75-degree seat tube angle, and extended reach (475mm on a large) to create a longer, more stable ride feel. Geometry scales proportionally across every frame size for consistent handling from Small to Extra Large. Whether you're sprinting out of the gate or carving through technical terrain, the Blur responds with precision and control.
Premium CC carbon layup, the lightest, best carbon available, carries a lifetime warranty with no rider weight limit. Full-length internal cable routing keeps everything silent and hassle-free, while updated frame storage, top tube accessory mounts, dual bottle mounts, and an integrated chain guide with downtube protector add practical capability. The innovative glovebox stows tools, tubes, and essentials for self-sufficient trail adventures. Advanced hollow dropout construction and internal cable chunnels deliver clean aesthetics with maximum durability.
The FOX Float SL Factory shock with 190x45 dimensions provides refined trail performance tuned for cross-country demands.
