Beautiful Bicycle: BMC Teammachine SLR 01
Few bikes look this good while being this fast. Sharp lines, race-proven geometry, and aerodynamic shaping give the BMC Teammachine SLR 01 VAR0 the look and intent of a true WorldTour-bred race bike. As BMC’s lightest 01-level finish, the VAR0 leaves the raw carbon frame untouched, creating the foundation for this clean build. Here, Swiss engineering meets Italian precision on either side of the Alps, with Campagnolo Super Record 2x13, Bora Ultra WTO wheels, and integrated power measurement completing the package.

Frame
At the center of this build is the BMC Teammachine SLR 01 VAR0, a frameset that strips things back to the essentials. As BMC’s lightest 01-level finish, the VAR0 uses a raw carbon finish that lets the material and shape of the frame stand out, while the oversized white BMC graphics give it a sharp, unmistakable identity. It is still every bit the Teammachine: light, stiff, aerodynamic, and built to perform across climbs, sprints, and fast rolling terrain.

Drivetrain
One of the defining details of this build is Campagnolo’s Super Record 2x13 groupset. It is still a rare sight in the U.S., which only adds to what makes this bike stand out. The Ergopower controls deliver precise braking and shifting, while the integrated power meter crankset brings training data into the mix without disrupting the clean look of the build. With 50/34t chainrings paired to an 11-36t cassette, the gearing offers a wide usable range for steep climbs, fast flats, and everything in between. It is a fitting expression of Italian performance on a Swiss race platform.

Wheels & Tires
Campagnolo Bora Ultra WTO 45 wheels keep the Italian theme going strong. At 45mm deep, they strike a balance between aerodynamic efficiency and handling in crosswinds, while the 23mm internal width supports modern tire profiles. Wrapped in Pirelli P Zero RS Race tires (700x28), the setup delivers speed on smooth pavement with enough comfort for long efforts. A combination that performs as good as it looks.

Cockpit & Contact Points
The BMC ICS Aero carbon cockpit keeps the front end clean and purposeful, with fully integrated cable routing that suits the Teammachine’s race-focused design. Its aerodynamic shaping feels appropriate here, adding to the bike’s speed-driven character without pushing comfort too far in the wrong direction.
The contact points are equally considered. A Fizik Vento Argo 00 saddle sits atop the Teammachine’s aero carbon seatpost, bringing a short-nosed shape that fits aggressive riding positions well. Up front, Fizik Tempo Microtex Bondcush Soft bar tape adds a touch of cushioning and grip, rounding out the build with details that feel performance-minded without being harsh.
