Beautiful Bicycle: BMC Teammachine SLR 01 in Metallic Blue Purple

Written by Joseph Bonacci, on May 15, 2026

The BMC Teammachine SLR 01 wears its metallic blue-purple finish with a lot of confidence. In the sun, the frame shifts from deep violet to brighter lavender, with darker graphics moving in and out of view across the tubes. It gives the bike a distinct presence without making the build feel loud. Against the concrete backdrop and black components, the color does most of the talking.

FRAME DETAIL

The frame is the center of this build, and it earns that attention quickly. BMC’s Teammachine SLR 01 chassis keeps the familiar race-bike sharpness, while the metallic finish shifts beautifully in the light. The oversized BMC logo brings a subtle contrast to the frame rather than breaking up the color.

DRIVETRAIN

Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 brings the expected precision without taking over the visual story of the bike. The 50/34t chainrings and 11-34t cassette give the bike a wide climbing range, making it feel practical and complete rather than overly narrow. The 165mm Dura-Ace crank with power meter adds the expected race-level detail without adding visual clutter. Everything around the drivetrain stays compact, polished, and quiet enough to keep the frame in charge.

WHEELS & TIRES

The DT Swiss ARC 1100 DiCut wheels give the bike its strongest visual weight. Their deep black profile sits low and solid beneath the purple frame, grounding a color that could otherwise feel almost too bright. Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR tires in 700 x 30 bring a modern road stance, filling the fork and rear triangle with a little more volume. It is a clean balance of depth, tire shape, and frame clearance.

COCKPIT & CONTACT POINTS

The BMC ICS Carbon Cockpit EVO keeps the front end clean, with the cables hidden and the bar flowing directly into the stem. At 400mm wide with a 90mm stem, the setup feels compact without looking cramped. Black Silca Nastro Cuscino tape adds a softer, more tactile finish to the integrated cockpit. A Fizik Taiga saddle and 10mm offset aero seatpost complete the contact points with the same tidy, modern feel.
