Beautiful Bicycle: Colnago V5Rs in World Champ Colors
This Colnago V5Rs arrives with the presence of a pure climbing bike, shaped around lightness, response, and long days in the mountains. Emblazoned with a modern take on the World Champions’ stripes, this bike stands out even among other World Championship liveries, without feeling like a stolen valor paint job, since the crisp stripes are reserved for Tadej himself. The bike is built to be the premium climbing setup, perfect for long, hilly days in the saddle.

Frame Detail
The Colnago V5Rs is their latest climbing frame, built to be as fast as possible when the gradients hit over 8%. Stiff through the bottom bracket, the frame is designed to transfer the rider’s power directly through the wheel when charging out of the saddle. Built around a claimed 685 gram chassis, it gives the rider room to save weight when building their dream bike. Colnago focuses on the details as well, speccing a CeramicSpeed SLT headset to maximize durability and extend bearing life, so the rider does not have to worry about replacing headset bearings for years.

Drivetrain
With a focus on climbing, the rider chose a SRAM RED groupset, built with a wide gear range that provides a strong climbing gear without sacrificing top-end speed. The 10-33 cassette pairs with a 48/35 chainring combination, giving the same top-end as a Shimano 52/11 setup while keeping the low end well suited to long, steep climbs. The ergonomic levers provide one-finger brake power, giving the rider more confidence on the descents.

Wheels & Tires
Continuing with a climbing focus, the rider chose ENVE 4.5 Pro wheels, designed to be the world’s first aero climbing wheelset. At a claimed 1295 grams with 49/55mm rim depths, they bring a rare balance of low weight, speed, and visual substance. These wheels are optimized around a 28mm tire to improve aerodynamics while keeping weight low. The rider chose Continental GP 5000 S TR tires, blending durability with performance to keep the bike rolling throughout the summer.

Cockpit & Contact Points
The Colnago bar keeps the front end clean and integrated, matching the frame’s modern race character. Silca Nastro Cuscino bar tape adds a slightly more forgiving contact point, a welcome choice for long rides and rougher mountain roads. The rider chose a Selle Italia SLR Boost Superflow saddle, which has a generous central cutout to provide both relief and support where it is needed most. Together, the cockpit and contact points keep the build focused, comfortable, and ready for long hilly days.
