Beautiful Bicycle: Moots Routt 45
This Moots Routt 45 starts with restraint. The titanium frame is clean, quiet, and confident, with the kind of finish that rewards attention rather than demanding it. That matters here, because the build adds plenty of character around it: matte jade Chris King details, tan-wall gravel tires, polished titanium hardware, and a modern 1x electronic drivetrain built around serious gravel range. The result is a bike that feels considered from every angle, without ever feeling overworked.

Frame Detail
The Routt 45 is a natural place for this kind of build to land. The frame has Moots’ familiar titanium calm, with round tubes, even welds, and a satin surface that keeps the whole bike feeling grounded. The 45th anniversary emblem on the seat tube is especially good because it barely announces itself. It sits in the finish like a small signature, which feels much more appropriate here than another loud graphic would.
The matte jade details are what give the frame its color story. They show up at the Chris King hubs, seatpost clamp, headset, and stem face plate, creating small points of contrast against the satin titanium. None of it feels loud, but the repetition matters. On a frame this restrained, that little bit of color gives the build a clearer rhythm.

Drivetrain
The drivetrain is modern and practical, but the build does not need to lean too hard on it. Shimano GRX R827 controls pair with an XTR M9200 rear derailleur and a Shimano XT 10-51 cassette, giving the Routt 45 a clean 1x electronic setup with plenty of range.
The more distinctive detail sits at the crank, where 5Dev RGXC titanium arms, a SRAM Red thread-mount power meter, and a Garbaruk 40t aero chainring add a sharper custom note. It is a functional drivetrain first, with just enough personality at the center of the bike to feel specific to this build.

Wheels & Tires
Reserve GR 30 AL rims keep the wheelset practical and clean, while Chris King R45D hubs in matte jade carry the build’s color detail into the wheels. It is a small hit of color, but it matters on a titanium bike that otherwise stays quiet. The hubs connect nicely with the other jade hardware without turning the build into a theme.
The tires are Panaracer GravelKing SS+ 45c, giving the Routt 45 a balanced gravel stance. The tan sidewalls work well against the satin titanium and keep the bike from feeling too dark through the lower half. Paired with the Reserve rims, the setup feels capable, simple, and well matched to the rest of the build.

Cockpit & Contact Points
The cockpit keeps the same mix of polish and restraint. A Moots 80mm titanium stem sits with a matching matte jade face plate. Black Silca Cuscino bar tape keeps the bar area quiet, which is the right move with so many small finish details already in play.
The seatpost and saddle keep the rear of the bike just as clean. A Moots titanium zero-offset seatpost supports a Specialized Phenom Pro Mirror 143 saddle, continuing the same quiet, refined language as the frame. From the rider’s view, the Routt 45 feels composed, balanced, and fully resolved.
