Beautiful Bicycle: Pinarello Dogma F Shines with Custom Paint and Pro-Tour Pedigree

Written by Nick Sowards, on September 22, 2025

Partnership or collaboration. Synergy or symbiosis. Alchemy or teamwork.

Whatever you call it, we call it the secret sauce or x-factor that underpins the vast majority of the Beautiful Bicycles that we showcase here on the Contender Journal.

Today's bike, which is a custom built and truly spectacular Pinarello Dogma F, fits that mold to a tee. Between the storied pedigree of a brand like Pinarello, the stunning vision of this particular customer, and Contender's knack for bringing it all to life through our pro build offering, this bike is is one of our finest collaborations to date, with the final output far greater than the sum of its parts, as they say.

Pinarello Dogma F Custom Build

Even rarer than this bike?

This Saturday, 9/27 @ 10 AM, the stars have aligned so that you can go from reading this post to actually saddling up and test riding your very own Pinarello Dogma F, through a group ride that Pinarello and Contender are hosting, rolling out from our Salt Lake City location.

Ready to learn more, about both this ride and the Pinarello group ride? LFG.

Frame & Paint: Pinarello Dogma F, MyWay Custom Paint Job

To get the ball rolling, let's start with what makes the Dogma F so exceptional. Pinarello's flagship frame is the culmination of decades of Grand Tour–winning experience (Miguel Indurain, Bradley Wiggins, and Egan Bernal all rode Pinarellos, to name just a few). Furthermore, a Dogma F is engineered to balance stiffness, weight, and aerodynamics in a way that very few bikes can. Its asymmetrical carbon layup distributes forces evenly through the frame, meaning the Dogma F feels rock solid under power but remarkably smooth at high speed. Every tube shape is fine-tuned in the wind tunnel, yet it maintains that unmistakable Pinarello silhouette.

Pinarello Dogma F Profile

Now comes the customization. Through Pinarello's MyWay program, the rider selected a "cut" paint scheme with crystal white as the primary canvas, paired with shimmering borealis luxter blue accents on the chainstay, downtube, fork, and cockpit.

The result? A frame that feels every bit as sculpted as it is fast; Italian design elevated by custom artistry.

Groupset & Drivetrain: Precision Elevated

Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 anchors this build, bringing the kind of seamless wireless shifting and braking trusted in the pro peloton. From there, smart upgrades take things even further: a 4iiii power meter for data-rich training, a CeramicSpeed oversized pulley for reduced drivetrain friction. It's a setup that blends heritage, precision, and efficiency at every turn.

Wheels & Tires: Princeton Meets ENVE

When you see the distinctive profile of Princeton CarbonWorks wheelset, you know speed is on the menu. This Dogma rolls on the Peak 4550 Evolution wheelset, which are the very same wheels ridden by the INEOS Grenadiers pro team.

Paired with ENVE SES 29mm tubeless tires, the setup offers a rare mix of grip, suppleness, and speed. Chris King Ceramic hubs in gloss black complete the package, adding buttery-smooth rolling performance and durability that will last for decades.

Cockpit & Rider Touchpoints: MOST at Its Finest

The cockpit stays true to Pinarello's in-house philosophy and brand (MOST), built around the MOST Talon Ultra Light bar/stem combo (44cm x 110mm). Sleek, aero, and feather-light, it carries the borealis paint highlights from the frame into the bartape and stem for a cohesive, fast look.

Finishing Touches

Elite Vico carbon cages in matte black & gray are subtle but secure, blending into the lines of the frame. Every component, from the hubs to the pulley wheels, was chosen with intent, not just to complement the Dogma's pedigree, but to enhance it. The result is a bike that is as thoughtful as it is fast, proof that details make the difference.
