Beautiful Bicycle: SCOTT Addict Gravel 20

Beautiful Bicycle: SCOTT Addict Gravel 20

Written by Ezra Jefferies, on October 22, 2026

Not every custom bicycle requires a complete build from the ground up. Sometimes, a frame swap is all it takes to create something completely different from what's found on the showroom floor. Originally built around a Mondraker Arid, this collection of components has found a new home on the all-new SCOTT Addict Gravel. More specifically, the Addict Gravel 20 frameset, offered in a unique colorway unavailable on the complete stock bike.

Frame Detail

The Addict Gravel platform recently received a complete overhaul, with improved compliance and massive tire clearance of up to 57mm among the most notable changes. While the previous-generation Addict Gravel RC was a pure race machine, SCOTT now positions the new platform toward all-day exploration. That doesn't mean racing is off the table, though.

The colorway, called Beluga Grey by SCOTT, features playful, hand-drawn lettering and graphics throughout the frame and fork. There are even a few Easter eggs tucked into the design, including a small "I Am Hungry" message surrounding one of the top tube bolts. It's a good reminder that bikes are meant to be fun and shouldn't always be taken so seriously.

Drivetrain

A mix of SRAM Force and X0 Transmission AXS carries over from the previous build. The setup pairs a SRAM Force XPLR crankset, 44t chainring, and dual-sided power meter with an X0 Transmission derailleur and 10-52t cassette.

With the introduction of SRAM's XPLR Transmission lineup, mixing road and mountain bike components isn't quite as necessary as it once was. However, there are still benefits to running a mountain bike drivetrain on a gravel bike, particularly the wider gearing range. That 52t cog makes a noticeable difference when tackling steep climbs and exploring trails that might otherwise push the limits of a traditional gravel setup.

Wheels & Tires

Reserve 25 GR wheels with Industry Nine hubs round out the build, wrapped in 50mm tan-wall Specialized Terra tires. While the frame can accommodate tires up to 57mm wide, the 50mm setup strikes a balance between off-road capability and efficiency when knocking out road miles on the way to the dirt.

Cockpit & Contact Points

Up front, a Syncros IC-R100-SL integrated cockpit creates a clean transition between the handlebar and frame. The 400mm bar width and 110mm stem length keep the setup compact, with internal cable routing maintaining a clean appearance. Internal routing might be a controversial topic, but it's hard to deny how good it looks on a drop-bar bike.

A Specialized Power saddle and Shimano XT pedals complete the build, bringing the finished weight to 18.72 pounds.

Not every new bike needs to start with an entirely new parts list. Whether it's a complete custom build or a frame swap using existing components, there are plenty of ways to put together something different.

If this build has sparked an interest in a custom build or even a frame swap, reach out to our team. We'd be happy to walk through the options and help get the process started.
