Beautiful Bicycle: SCOTT Spark RC 700 - A Kids Dream Bike
Finding full-suspension bikes with 27.5” wheels has become increasingly challenging in the past few years, especially those designed for kids looking to bridge the gap between a kid-sized and adult-sized bike. Luckily, SCOTT has designed the Spark RC 700, a SCOTT Spark that is upfitted with 27.5” wheels to give young shredders the option to get on a capable full-suspension bike without it being too large. Built for the owner’s kids, this specific bike needed to provide the fit and confidence of a youth bike while offering the capability of an adult full-suspension platform. This specific build takes the stock setup and upgrades key components to deliver performance and reliability across any terrain.

Frame and Suspension
Built around the SCOTT Spark RC 700 Frameset, this bike features full carbon construction with 120mm of rear-wheel travel. The frame is the perfect blend of light weight and capability, giving the rider the confidence to tackle any obstacle. The frame is paired with a Manitou Machete Comp fork, specifically tuned for a lighter-weight rider, giving the bike a refined and responsive feel.

Drivetrain
To maximize reliability, the bike uses a SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission drivetrain in place of the stock setup. This mechanical system carries over key features of AXS Transmission, including shifting under load, durability, and a consistent feel. It delivers those qualities in a more accessible package that reduces cost while improving long-term serviceability.

Wheels and Tires
Reynolds Enduro Pro 307 Carbon Wheels were the wheelset of choice for the build, shedding weight and improving performance. These carbon rims are laced to Industry Nine Hydra Hubs, which provide instant engagement, helping the rider stay pedaling through technical sections without getting hung up on obstacles. Maxxis Rekon Race tires were the choice for rolling fast in Utah’s dry conditions while still providing much-needed cornering grip.

Cockpit and Contact Points
A slew of Syncros parts finish off the build, with the handlebar and stem offering lightweight, easily trimmable options for dialing in the bike's fit. The Acros cable collector makes swapping stems easy with its universal design that integrates with the headset cable-routing system. An 80mm Syncros Duncan Dropper post is the perfect length to give the rider the confidence needed on the downhill, while still allowing for a wide range of saddle heights.
