Ernie's Best Builds: Custom-Painted 3T Strada

Ernie-3T-Strada-RTP-orange-front-side-blog Ernie the corgi is known around these parts for his discerning taste in bicycles. This year, we wanted to highlight some of his favorite bike builds. Link to the complete list found HERE. Day one of Ernie's Best Builds goes to this custom-painted 3T Strada road bike. This bike belongs to Ryan, who was excited by the 1x-only 3T Strada as soon as we caught wind of it's creation. We've gone into detail as to what makes this bike unique (HERE and HERE), but at the risk of repeating ourselves, the 3T Strada looks GOOD. This bike features a Shimano Dura Ace/Ultegra Di2 1x11 drivetrain with a Shimano Dura-Ace R9100P powermeter, DT Swiss ERC 1100 Di-Cut carbon fiber wheels, and a Selle Italia SLR saddle. Ernie-3T-Strada-RTP-orange-downtube-detail-blog Ernie-3T-Strada-RTP-orange-dt-swiss-1600-spline-detail-blog Ryan's Strada Team looks particularly good, courtesy of a custom paint scheme done by our local painter and 3T's Ready to Paint (RTP) option. What remains constant on this bike is the ability to run a wide 28c tire with room to spare alongside a an aero frame profile. The two in conjunction make for a bike that is stiff out of the saddle, but rides more comfortably than just about any other aero road bike we've ridden. This particular model is optimized for a 1x drivetrain, and with the 9-32t 3T Overdrive cassette, we've found it to be plenty of gears.
