The Wasatch Trail Killer: A Custom Scor 2030

The Wasatch Trail Killer: A Custom SCOR 2030

Written by Isaac Boyden, on June 07, 2024

When it comes to mountain biking, many people would rank the Wasatch Mountain range as having some of the best in the world. The Wasatch trail system offers a world-class biking experience with stunning views across various locations, including Park City, Salt Lake, Corner Canyon, Little and Big Cottonwood Canyon, and the Midway/Heber area.

Fun long downhills and descents are sure to bring a smile to any who ride it. But with the long, dusty descents come longer climbs. This can make finding the right bike for the area hard. Finding a bike that can do the flatter rolling terrain in the valley and the steeper and more rowdy terrain in Park City, while being fun in both, a good climber, and a capable descender is a tall order. Enter the SCOR 2030, one of the Ultimate Wasatch trail bikes.

With a lightweight build, but aggressive geometry, this bike can tackle anything in its path in these mountains. Built around 120mm of rear travel, and can run a 130 or 140mm fork, this bike is nimble enough for tight and twisty climbs, long slogs, and rolling terrain. But the ability to swap the rear travel to 130mm instead of 120mm and a 140mm fork means it can take abuse. With a true dual mini-link suspension layout means all of that travel is usable, has good bump sensitivity, and has better support than some bikes in this category. This is further proven by SCOR testing this bike to the standards of a downhill bike. This bike passes all criteria to be at ASTM 5, the highest standard for strength they have, very unique for a bike in this travel range.

This build was built to handle anything, but only to the point it wasn't going to add too much weight with a two-piston rear brake and a four-piston front brake, fast-rolling tires with some good cornering knobs, and a 34mm stanchion fork. Specs below!
