Visit Contender Bicycles on the weekends are afternoon hours and you might run into Joseph. Though he’s one of our youngest employees, he’s also one of our best. The kid knows his bikes and - if you’re not careful - he’s more than happy to give you an opinion on the build and components of any bike in the shop. An avid mountain biker, JoBo recently completed a fun dream build of a Pinarello gravel bike for some all-road adventures.
My current favorite bike has to be my 2020 Scott Spark RC 900 Pro. The full XTR build, with my added Reynolds Blacklabel Wheelset with the industry 9 Hydra hubs, Raceface Cinch Power meter and a Fox transfer Seatpost makes it one of the funnest race bikes I have ever ridden.
Now my dream bike is going to bore all of my coworkers because they have heard me talk about this bike more than I should have, but it has to be the 2021 Scott Spark RC Supersonic. I would put on Reynolds Blacklabel wheels with a Silver finished i9 Hydra hub, XTR brakes, Sram AXS groupset, Rockshox Reverb AXS Dropper post with a hidden blip lever (think Kate Courtney's Setup), Quarq Power meter Ceramic speed bottom bracket, pulley wheels and wheel upgrade.
