Ryan, co-owner of Contender Bicycles alongside Alison since 1999, has been an integral part of the shop for over three decades. Starting at Contender in 1988 during high school, Ryan witnessed and contributed to the shop's transformation into one of the largest and most respected bike shops in the country. While both Alison and Ryan boast a competitive racing background, they have embraced e-bikes not only as sellers but as enthusiasts. The Littlefields, parents to twin daughters and a rescue Corgi named Tia, have made cycling more accessible through their dedication to Contender and their love for e-bikes.

Sam, drawn to the mountains and expansive landscapes, made the move to Utah three years ago. As a vital member of the e-commerce team at Contender, he plays a key role in quality control. Hailing from Portsmouth, NH, Sam brings a touch of coastal flair to the team, and in a quirky twist, he once had a pet lobster. Adding a personal touch to his commute, Sam enjoys riding his old Cannondale to work every day, embracing the scenic journey.

Encounter Joseph during weekend afternoons at Contender Bicycles, and you'll meet a standout among our youngest and most knowledgeable employees. A Utah native and avid mountain biker, JoBo possesses a keen understanding of bikes, readily offering opinions on the builds and components of any bike in the shop. 

Peter, a living bicycle reference book, possesses unparalleled knowledge of bikes and the art of crafting dream rides. Leading Contender's sales floor, he ensures customers receive exceptional treatment and respect. Residing in Utah for over two decades, with roots in Virginia and Seattle, Peter's intimate familiarity with the state's roads and trails makes him an invaluable guide in building the bike of your dreams. Peter adds a touch of well-traveled expertise to the team, having set foot on every continent except Antarctica.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Adan is an essential mechanic at Contender, bringing local expertise to the bike shop. As a vital member of the team, Adan ensures that bikes are in top-notch condition for fellow enthusiasts. Beyond his mechanical prowess, he enjoys playing video games and delving into the intricacies of cars and computers. 

A beacon of positivity, Matt is the rock star manager of Contender's Park City Store. Embracing fat biking in the winter, he eagerly explores the Round Valley trails whenever possible. With a background as a former school administrator, Matt seamlessly navigates the world of bikes, assisting customers in finding their perfect match at the shop. Hailing from Fairfax, VA, he adds a touch of East Coast charm to the Contender team.

Originally from Provo, UT, Colby made his way to Salt Lake City to pursue studies at the University of Utah. Playing a crucial role in operations at Contender, he focuses on managing inventory and facilitating the transfer of shop goods between locations. Beyond his work, Colby brings a unique adventurous spirit, as he once lived in a shipping container in a rural village in Uganda for two months, showcasing his resilience and cultural exploration.

Hailing from Glen Head, NY, Ed D. ventured to Salt Lake City in 2004 to pioneer the Medicare health insurance market for Humana. With a remarkable career spanning over 20 years, he retired in 2020 and seamlessly transitioned into a key role on our service writing team at Contender. Ed D. brings not only professional expertise but also a rich family life and a passion for adventure, evident in his 2 kids, 2 dogs, and an impressive collection of 11 bicycles.
