The Cervélo Áspero GRX RX610 1 is a versatile gravel race bike designed to deliver the speed and efficiency of the original Áspero while adding meaningful refinements for comfort, durability, and all-day performance. Cervélo has retained the bike's race-focused character while improving the areas that matter most over long gravel events, creating a platform that is faster, more comfortable, and more adaptable across changing terrain and conditions.

Aerodynamic efficiency remains an important part of the Áspero's design, but Cervélo approaches it with the realities of gravel racing in mind. Rather than focusing solely on outright speed, the frame is shaped to reduce drag and conserve energy over long distances. The updated design saves approximately three watts compared to the previous generation, a small gain that can become meaningful over hours of riding, particularly when facing sustained headwinds or demanding race conditions.

The updated frame also introduces dropped seatstays that increase rear-end compliance, helping smooth rough gravel and reduce fatigue as rides progress. Front-end stiffness has been slightly reduced to create a more forgiving ride without compromising the responsive handling expected from a performance gravel bike. Additional clearance around the seatstays improves mud management, drawing on lessons learned from Cervélo's R5-CX cyclocross platform and challenging events such as the 2023 Unbound Gravel mudfest.

A threaded T47a bottom bracket provides a straightforward, rider-serviceable interface while retaining the performance benefits of Cervélo's BBRight design philosophy. The frame also uses SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger standard, providing compatibility with SRAM Transmission drivetrains and helping future-proof the platform for evolving drivetrain technology.
