Product Details
The Cervélo S5 is a sport-wide benchmark for aerodynamic efficiency backed by undeniable race results. From Wout van Aert's historic Green Jersey victory to Simon Yates claiming the maglia rosa, the S5's iconic V-stem and bayonet fork have become fixtures at the front of the professional peloton. This new generation builds on that legendary legacy of speed by pushing the boundaries even further—delivering measurable gains that separate true performance from incremental improvements.
The new S5 is 6.3 watts faster than its predecessor while weighing 124 grams less, an exceptional achievement given the increased depth at the front end. The biggest aerodynamic gains come from where they matter most. The fork legs and head tube are noticeably deeper, creating a more efficient fairing that splits oncoming air. The all-new one-piece handlebar and stem, the HB19, builds on Cervélo's original V-stem concept while pushing speed further. Using the "Plus-Four" philosophy, the bar dimension at the hoods is 4cm narrower than in the drops—allowing riders to maintain a more aerodynamic body position while on the hoods while providing stability in the drops for descending and sprinting.
The integration of asymmetric profiles on the seat tube and rear wheel contributes significantly to overall aerodynamic performance. Despite the increased surface area from deeper tubes, meticulous optimization of the carbon layup and hardware keeps the system lighter than before. All bar sizes remain UCI-legal, even under recent regulation changes.
Cervélo and Reserve co-developed the Reserve 57|64 Turbulent Aero wheels specifically for the S5 frame, completing the aerodynamic system as a unified whole. The rear wheel's asymmetry matches the seat tube profile, ensuring smooth airflow over both surfaces. The new wheelset is 3 watts faster than its predecessor while maintaining the same weight.
Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic drivetrain delivers instantaneous precision shifting, paired with 4iiii Precision Pro GEN3+ dual-sided power meter for comprehensive performance data.
